One of many Holocaust memorials in #Berlin, this is Gleis 17. It’s a platform at the Grunewald train station where thousands of Jews were deported to various concentration camps. It’s not as somber as some of the other memorials but the fact that its a platform at a train station still in use today is certainly sobering. (at Gleis 17)
Sometimes this city and its inhabitants are so silly.
Saw this tour on Gidsy…a tour of start up companies in Berlin.

It’s amazing how many people here are profiting off of just the idea that this city is THE place to be for a startup. So many of the start ups here are simply catering to the Berlin start up audience. I’ve never seen nor heard of some of these companies outside of the little start up bubble that is in Mitte Berlin, but hey, if they can find a way to make money/funding, I guess I shouldn’t knock ‘em.
Kind of like this “travel blogging community” which is supposed to be so supportive and wonderful. So much success in that field requires ass-kissing to a handful of people who are “better” at networking. Read that how you will.
Sorry for the grumpy post. Expect more of ‘em here on the Tumblr because it’s the place where I feel I’ve got the most amount of privacy in a public space. Yes, I realize that’s a conundrum.
